This is more than just a simple book quote. I love seeing this as a personal philosophy to find inspiration in the work of others and find a way to make it your own. Humans have been around for thousands of years. Creating something without a correlation to the past is difficult, but instead of boring repetition take this old thing and find some way to make it new and original in its own merits. I love to walk around our class and find inspiration in the ways other people tackle a project and I might take some small form or idea from that inspiration and find a way to make it my own.
